Happenings

My granny is in the Lodge in Lanigan now. They might have to move her to Strausbourg next Friday. I sure hope not.
So far, RISK has been not happening, and I am a little frustrated. We have hit a snag in our Drama plan for after Christmas, we need a director, and we don't want a student. I'm worried if we get a student there would always be an issue were some people wouldn't listen becasue they were peers and not leaders or something along those lines. Christmas plans are in full swing here, and all seems cheery. I don't know if I can handle another two weeks of school though...
Other than that, things seem normal. I don't have anything shocking to report. It is kind of boring in Lanigan.
Oh yah! There is only like sixty days to Europe! I am getting pumped!

Hmm, November Feelings

Greetings,
I am kind of fluctuating in my mood lately, I am happy, at school I am hoping to get a drama play together this year seeing as how our school's drama department is seriously lacking. I believe there is a teacher on board with the idea, so I hope to work it out. I realize it is a lot of work, but if there are students who are dedicated to it I think I should do it.
I am sad because my Granny had a stroke. She had one 8 years ago and recovered well, but she is now no longer 79, she is 87, and that can make a big difference. She seems to be getting better, but has taken to trying to escape. I hope she'll be back to her old fiery self soon.
So my mood has been happy, to sad, to angry; I think I am going crazy. Eventually I'll have to channel my insanity towards RISK, but for now, I have to bottle it up inside!

RISK! RISK! RISK!

RISK! Finally I had enough. It was time for a RISK Tourny! I hosted, It was super awesome. There were tacos and movies, plus we played RISK twice. I was happier than I have been for a while. All in all, RISK this year is far better than RISK last year. Someone else has to host next time though!

Rantings and Stuff

Yah! We finally finshed combining! It took forever. Finally!
Well, not much has happened here since Oct. 15th, but I will start that blog I promised, The Search for the Perfect Girl. Do you even remember? I just did, so here it goes.

Apparantly there is a perfect girl for me out there. Don't know who, but perhaps... Pauline Brenner from Red Water Alberta? She apparantly is everything I want for a girlfriend, but I don't know if she is real. My friend, Chantelle knew her at her old school, so she told me Thursday. Apparantly, she is everything I would want... But perhaps too perfect? I don't know. But now I am rambling, so I'll stop.

RISK is having a difficult time getting started. I missed the first day of RISK because of career fair, which was interesting. But I realize I must look like a dealer or something because one kid there asked me if I knew where to get some pot.... I was shocked, and replied, "No, Sorry." which made no sense because I wasn't sorry at all. That was strange.

But anyway, back to RISK. That day only one person showed up because everyone was at career fair in S'toon. Well, we don't know when we wil;l ahve RISK, but hopefully it starts soon. There is no more chaos or darkness left in our school! It is a modern tragedy when I can't tell my insane schemes to conquer the world to a group of closely trusted confidants who share my passion! It is outrageous!

Well, I got facebook, and gave in to "the power" Who am I to resist trends?

Lookin' Up

Lately, I have been a little on edge. I have been grumpy and snappy, but now I feel better.
One reason is that I decided to make the best of being the youth leader at our church rather than looking at the downside of that job. I am afraid we won't get any Catholic Youth, mainly because they've been ignored for so long. We have incredible support from the congregaton of the church though, and maybe we can pull it off!
Another reason for my new attitude is that, like the Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor, the Drama Teacher never stays more than one year. There is hope for drama next year!
After numerous break-downs in the field, we finally repaired all the equipment that was out of comission. Memorable moments from those:
1. When the grain truck fell off the blocks that was holding it up while I was under it. It scared me half to death!
2. Pulling the combine out of a sinkhole with the tractor. My dad managed to drive straight into the mud.
3. Crawling on the straw walkers and unplugging the beater.
(Too hard to explain on the internet, hard on the knees, though)
4. The icing on the cake? The wheel on the combine fell off in the middle of the field!
Hey Mrs. Wiens! If you were here, leave the price of your mustang!

I'm Back!

It has been the most busy last month of my life. We have been combining non-stop for over a month, and now we are down to only eight quarters. I am so excited! The only thing that stopped us is the rain! I am not happy about that, although it gives me a chance to finally update this blog.
Risk has not started yet, but I hope it will soon. Also, I now realize that pie-ing Mrs. Saeloff didn't accomplish anything, we still won't have a play. I am really frustrated about that, but I am learning to live with it.
Right now I am on a wild rampage trying to write a book. I am having mixed success, and I have some days where my writing is sub-par and other days where my writing is exceptional. I am currently working on a backround story for a series of novels set in a futuristic galaxy. It is so much fun inventing things like dark energy and conceiving ideas for galactic events and politics, not to mention epic battles and intrigue as desperate people go to all ends to save what they believe in. I am trying to get away from "This side is good guys, this side is bad guys" and really blur the line between good and evil. There is not ever in reality a difinative line if you are doing what you believe is right. It will be up to the reader to decide which side to support!
I hope everyone has a great thanksgiving, I know I will!

'Sup world?

I have been busy with homework for the past few weeks, and I am tired. Today I went for my driver's test and failed. Oh well, there is always next time.
I am now the adoptive mother of 5 precious kitties that don't have a mum anymore. I feel so bad for them, but now they are being fed and bathed (quite often) by me. They are cute, eventually they have to go outside, but for now they are living in the house.
The drama situation is going to become more dramatic soon. Updates later.

Following is the promised Pie Manifesto:
The Pie Manifesto

Edward Dodd and Vanessa Paulson

Let it be proclaimed in all the land that pie is created equal. Pie is a sacred right handed down from our ancestors, and we must respect pie. All who have pie must share pie, and never should one person eat a pie alone.

The only pie that is not equal is raisin pie. Raisin pie is gross, and should never be ingested. All respect pie and pie sanctity will immediately disown anyone who does so.

List of acceptable pies:
Ø Banana Cream
Ø Lemon Marangue
Ø Coconut Cream
Ø Chocolate
Ø Peach
Ø Rhubarb
Ø Pear
Ø Apple
Ø Pecan
Ø Butterscotch
Ø List more pies here:

If we do not all accept the terms of pie, then it is inevitable that Pie Warfare will break out. Pie warfare is brutal and harsh, and if we continue to value pies differently then it will break out all over the world.

Pies were made to be eaten and in rare cases, thrown. Often you may see a politician on television getting a pie in the face. This is wrong, and shows utter disrespect for pies and pie related material. A pie is meant to be eaten by the person who baked or bought it, and by a group of selected friends who are respectful of pie. The rare cases of pie throwing that are acceptable are when done so for charity.

When you see a person of importance getting a pie in the face, imagine if everyone you know and love were getting a pie in the face. This is pie warfare, and the only way to remedy this is to respect pie and value it equally along with acceptable pies.

The only place that disrespecting pies will lead us is into trouble and darkness. If a banana cream pie is valued over butterscotch pie, then the butterscotch pie supporters will grow weary of living under banana cream pie oppression. They will rise up and overthrow the banana cream pie overlords, becoming the new rulers of pie-dom. But now that butterscotch pie is ruler, the Apple pie faction is oppressed, and eventually in turn will rise up and remove the butterscotch pie people. This is continuous, never-ending cycles of hate and pie inequality that will perpetuate itself over time. If this goes on too long, we will never be able to change it.

Special notes on pi:

Pi is a very sacred number for pie lovers everywhere. Any person who cannot recite pi to two digits is a traitor and must be re-educated in the ways of pie. If they refuse to learn pi, then they must be grouped together with raisin pie lovers and shunned.

The Rules of Pie and Pi and Pie Related Materials:

1. Pies are all created equal, the only pie that is not equal is raisin pie.
2. Pies are to be eaten and only thrown in rare cases for charity.
3. Pi is 3.1415926…
4. The Grand Master of All Things Pie must recite pi to 10 digits to claim the title.
5. All pie must be shared amongst friends and other trustworthy pie people.
6. Anyone refusing to share pie must eat either a raisin pie or a cow pie, or both depending on the number of previous offenses and the seriousness of the offence as a punishment for improper behavior.
7. Punishment is to be decided by The Grand Master of All Things Pie.
8. If there is no one person who can recite pie to 10 digits, then a vote of pie people will determine who becomes The Grand Master of All Things Pie.
9. A pie plate must be destroyed with dignity seeing as how it has held a pie before.
10. If someone throws a pie for any reason other than for charity, then they will be shunned.
Pie’s Great Riddle:

Pie has one great, unanswered question that has stumped philosophers for over two weeks. It is recorded here in the manifesto:

A father loved his children very much and wanted to leave them each with a pie of their own. Unfortunately, he was a poor man and could not afford more than one pie. When he died, he left half the pie to his oldest son, a quarter to his daughter, and one-eighth to each of his other two children. But the father’s pie was a beautiful pie and they did not want to cut it up into pieces. After much hardship and deliberation, it was decided that they would ask a neighbor to borrow his pie. When the pie was divided up, everyone got their share of a pie, and the neighbor got his pie back whole. The father’s pie wasn’t divided up either. How is this possible?

Final Statements:

Pie is one of Canada’s and the world’s greatest treasures. If we do not accept that all pies are created equal, then pie warfare will ensue. Pies are created free and equal, and if purchased should be shared. If baked, it should also be shared. Anyone who refuses to accept The Pie Manifesto should be shunned, along with raisin pie lovers and anyone who has broken the rules of pie.

PIE IS FOR EATING, NOT FOR BEATING!
PIE IS EQUAL,
PIE WARFARE MUST BE AVOIDED!PIE IS A NATIONAL TREASURE!PROTECT PIE EQUALITY!
Remember: If we continue along the path we have chosen, then the best pies will get better and the worst pies will get worse. We can make all pies equally good and equally tasty. You can still have a favorite pie as long as you understand that all pies are special in their own way. Go forth and proclaim the Good News of Pie.

Revolt!

Hmmm... Yet again it seems that our drama production has been shredded and changed into an atrocity. Well, it might be an exageration, but it is once again that the drama production has been cast down and a new teacher has changed it so that if you are not in dinner theater or drama 10 you can not be in the main play, you have to do smaller skits. The whole reasoning I believe is because she doesn't want to stay after school because she lives an hour drive away, so she wants to go home. This happened with last year's drama teacher. I hoped this would not be a reoccuring pattern, but it might be. So far, we have been planning to talk to Mrs. Salhof and raising the issue again. Hopefully we will get somewhere with it.

One Week down...

After one week of school I am now completely ready to have another summer holiday...
Our school division is the only school division in the province that spent the entire week at school. I think I could have handled it, but today I couldn't sleep in because we had to butcher chickens. No matter how interesting chickens jumping around with no heads is, you can't stay awake all day if you go to bed at one and wake up at seven. But I did it!
I was up until one because I went to Vanessa's for a first week party. It was great! We sent twenty texts to my phone, which I conveniently forgot in my locker Friday, we played flashlight tag, and Ashley hid in her trunk, we spent close to an hour looking for her I think...
I have a great bunch of friends. They are weird, just like me. (No offense, it is a compliment) We can talk about bovine revolution and insane schemes, and run around yelling into walkie-talkies and being random. It is super fun! Sometimes there's cake.
Posts to look forward to:

First Day of School

As far as first days of school go, today's ranked somewhere in the middle. I am happy to be back at school and seeing all my friends I have been away from out here in the boonies. I also was quite in a state of shock that Vanessa is in grade 12 and I am in grade 11. Boy oh boy did that ever sneak up on me! Also, there was no easy fun day, which seemed strange. All the teachers are acting strange, they are afraid of the new principal ; ) The work is not much more difficult than last year. We have only three kids in our French 20 class, which I found odd. I suppose only those of us that want to possibly be Prime Minister someday want to take French...
This year I hope to accomplish five subjects with a 95% average so I have a good chance of getting a scholarship wherever I apply for one. I want RISK to be continued. I also want to go curling some more, super fun! Did I mention I have Brent's old Physics 20 textbook? I plan toi use it for voodoo and make Brent cut his hair.

Have a good day

Back to School

To anyone who is reading this,

School is starting in less than a week. I sure hope Risk club is still going this year. I look forward to seeing all of my friends when school re-opens. Hopefully this year we will have a real drama production, and not just a quick, half-hour play that had no real plot or movement in it. By the way, I have a kitty. I don’t like his name, but my brother has already named him it, so I can’t change it. He is cute and adorable and now is my favorite cat. He is orange! I hope everyone finds it easy to go back to school this year.
Enjoy the last few days of break,
Edward

Barley Dust --- Itchy!

Have you ever had to shovel barley from a bin? If not, let me fill you in... It is hot and dusty. Afterwards you become very itchy for days and finally after vigorous scrubbing and large quantities of soap, you are no longer itchy, but you have sensative skin. Sounds fun, doesn't it?
Well, my 16th birthday went over well (July 28th). I am waiting now for the drivers test in September. Wish me good luck! I received a cell phone for my birthday and some money from my aunt and uncle, and my grandparents. Now I am becoming proficient at text messaging.
Our trip to Calgary was fun. I did get a watch, but no digital camera, oh well! It is really hard to get a hotel room anywhere in Alberta during the week... we went from Calgary to Kindersley in search of a hotel room to stay the night in on the way back! While in Kindersley we stayed at the Kindersley Inn, which is a great place if you like watersliding and nice rooms. I was impressed. While we stayed, there was a thunderstorm which was quite big, I enjoyed it immensly.
I finished reading Harry Potter, which I loved and finished in 3 days. It was intense and fast paced, I couldn't put it down! Some incredible twists and quite a bit was revealed, I won't say anything though because I don't want to ruin it in case anyone is still reading it.
Right now I have most of my school supplies and I am waiting to get to Saskatoon to get new reading material. I am sure burning through books at an alarming rate. I also need a haircut.
Before I know it, it will be time for school, which will be a disappointment, but I still enjoy returning to school. Grade 11, wow. I need to work hard this coming year. A few more supplies and I'll be ready to begin school again.
I hope everyone is enjoying their summer, it is nearly half finished on the calendar. I have been enjoying myself and doing a lot of mowing. I am enjoying the brief reprieve from the heat, although I love the heat, it was definately time to take a break.

Enjoy Summer,
Edward

Finally, French Videos!

Have you ever put something off until you couldn't remember what you wanted to do in the first place? Well I finally put my French Videos on the net, so if you have time to download them, then enjoy, even if you can't understand it. I promise there is no viruses on them. If you want to download them, go to the link on the side of this page labeled "French Videos"
Well, I have been working hard and having fun. Last week I went to Saskatoon with my family, mainly for the orthodontist. Unfortunately I still need braces, but I still had a wonderful time that day. We went to Boston Pizza for supper and I had a lot of fun, and then we rocked out to "The Best of The Guess Who" CD on the way home. We went to Regina on the 15th for my Aunt snd Uncles birthday's and my parents anniversary (July 14th). My Uncle had the Nintendo Wii and we played that for a while. It is pretty amazing. We are going to Calgary on Sunday and to Drumheller for a day. Maybe I can get a new watch and a digital camera. Both my watches broke simentaneuosly (or however it is spelled) Today we finally finalized the wedding songs I am going to play on July 28th. I am going to work on my Birthday, but toi me piano isn't work, I just enjoy it a lot.
Hope everyone's summer is going well!

Canada Day!

Canada Day was great! I went golfing with my brothers and had a great time, didn't have to do a lot of work tha day, and saw all my friends (except Daygan) at Jansen for the fireworks, which were much better than the fireworks on Parliament Hill in Ottawa! I really love Canada and I felt a surge of Nationalist pride all day! Now, I hear that we have been invited to a 70's party on 7/7/'07 at Vanessa's. It should be great. Tomorrow I am going to see the orthodontist in Saskatoon, and going to the music store and Value Village for my attire. If I am really lucky, the orthdontist will say I am finished with braces. If that happens, I might die of happiness! Hot weather and sunny days are ahead in the weather, which is just what I love. I also saw some of my friends and had a good long chat with Miranda today. It seems we see eye to eye on a lot of things. That made me feel really good to know that someone shares my opinions for some reason.
Have a good summer everyone!

Wedding Bells...

No, it is not what you are thinking. I am not getting married yet. I've just been asked by someone to play the piano at their wedding. I am really nervous. The wedding is July 28th (My birthday!) and I don't know what to play. I thought that they would tell me what they wanted and i could learn the songs, but they asked me to find some good songs! I have never been married, how should I know? After searching the piano bench I found the Bridal March, and the Wedding March from a Midsummer's night's dream, which I recognize and can now play. I need some serious help here! Do you have any good ideas for wedding songs? Any suggestion is good, I need somewhere to start! I'd like to hear your thoughts, please reply if you have any good songs! Time is of the essence!

End of School and other things to catch up on...

Hi!
I realize it has been a very long time since my last blog. Oh well. The last week held a few exciting adventures. Mostly I was bored with school. We started review for the French final, and it is going to be a difficult one. I need to re-learn my future simple, and also review passe compose (there should be accent ague's on those e's) I went to Courtney's and it was fun, we watched the holiday and had smores. It rained, and we only got an inch here, although around here there was anywhere from an inch to four inches. On the way back from Courtney's I danced really funny in the car and sang very out of tune to Respect by Aritha Franklin.
Today, Vanessa and I matched countries to people on the bus. Sherilyn is Australia, because she is a quiet loner, Chantel is Madagascar because she is forgotten and likes to party, Sarah Knaus is Ireland because she picks fights and is having mood swings, although she picked that one and not me, I would have chosen Iran for her. Trayce Pickering is North Korea because he is an outcast and a wierd guy, his sister is South Korea, because they fight. Regan Fick is Switzerland becasue he is quiet and doesn't fight anyone. My brother Christopher is China because he is friend with Russia and no one likes him. Russia is Cole Knaus becasue he is friends with China. Also he is violent and likes vodka! My brother William is the U.S.A. because he tries to keep the peace by starting fights and only causes more fighting. The best part is that I am Germany because I am misunderstood and want to take over the world, and Vanessa is Italy, becasue she is my buddy and she is a little angry person like Mussolini. Marla, the bus driver, is like the U.N. because she tries to maintain peace and order, but is not always able to!
Well, bye for now! I am going to go watch the Colbert Report!

O.K., I am calm now...

Greetings all!
Yes, the other day I was a little peeved about all that had happened, but I realize that life goes on, and that I have it pretty good, even if it seems bad at times. Today was good. Not much happened this weekend. There was a ginat bee in the tractor. My mortal fear is bees, so I freaked out. I crushed it under a peddle, but it survived, and then i dropped a hammer on it before it could get me! I was so scared! Then I went to St. Brieux with my dad, and we had a greeat time. We saw some hills and water. Great sights if you ever want to go up there, travel on the grid roads, it is fabulous! This all happened this weekend when I was working. It was Saturday and an axle broke on the cultivator. The only place we could get a part was St. Brieux, so we went there. Then we talked to a guy who thought that organic farming was the way to go, and he had some really good points, so we spent a lot of time talking to him. Then we got backi and had to fix the cultivator, which was not so much fun. Today was reletively a great day! I nailed the drama monologue and it was fun. Then we had a BBQ after school with some friends to celebrate the fact that we finally finished seeding!!! YAY!!!! I was also invited to Courtney's Birthday on Saturday. I got her a fuzzy bunny and a fuzzy kitty, they are great. The girl at the front counter at the drug store didn't say anything, but I told her that they weren't for me. Then I admitted I have a fuzzy kitty collection, and she looked at me funny. Finally, I denied that I had a collection. It was so funny, she looked really shocked! I took it home and got a shiny gift bag for it. I can't wait for Wednesday to give it to her! I really hope I can go to her house Saturday.
Well, bye for now!

Worst Day of the Year

Today was the worst day of the year for me. When I woke up this morning, we didn't have any sewer. I couldn't shower and I had to brush my teeth into an ice cream bucket, my mom tried to hurry me along so my brother could brush his teeth and got mad when I was too slow. I went on the bus and the younger kids were being annyoing. First class, the loud kids in my class were all louder and more obnoxious than ever. Second period, my Drama teacher drove me insane and Kim was being very loud. Then everyone started bad mouthing the Europe Tour and how they said it would be boring and stupid. That made me mad. Then I realized that Mr. Grest, my favorite teacher left at LCHS was leaving. That made me sad. At lunch, not much happened, more bad mouthing of the tours and stuff like that. I lost a dollar when I fell off the bleachers. When we started class, I enjoyed a brief time of History, and then we had French, but Kelly was bad mouthing Daygan and I about being smart. When we got into groups Megan got all sad because I didn't pick her. On the bus, my brother and his friend were calling me names, and when I got home, my taste in music was insulted. Also my brothers didn't listen when I told then to do stuff, not like it was hard... Trim around the tombstones at the graveyard... do a good job of mowing... I was in charge of mowing the cemetary but they would not reaspect me at all. I feel I have lost the respect of everyone. I don't like the fact taht all my favorite teachers are leaving, i don't blame them, but I don't like the new teachers they bring in. Bring in a compotent teacher next time! I miss Mrs. Fowler and Miss. I. Our new full time principal is seemingly o.k, but you never know.
Well, I want to go to bed now. Tomorrow should be better. Or else!

Weekend

I did a lot of work this weekend and watched The Last King of Scotland. It was a good movie, although at time very graphic. I recommend watching it if you like movies based on historical events. Also, I played piano in church on Sunday and for some reason was very nervous durin ghte first song. I play the piano in church nearly every week, there is nothing to be nervous about, but there it is. I was invited to Vanessa's Saturday night, but I was exhausted so I didn't go. I planted flowers on Sunday after church. Then today we were going to film our French Commercial, but the camera didn't work so that was rescheduled for tomorrow. I am going to try to put the first French Commercial on the net, but I am not sure how. The grammar is not right I know for a fact. I think you would get a laugh out of it, though. Hopefully it works!

Talk to you later!

RISK Tourney! (And other events since Tuesday)

Yay!!! Yes, RISK tournament happened last Thursday. It was fun, but a little disorganized. there was a potluck and a lot of good food. And the best part besides the insulting and the yelling? BRENT WAS THERE!!! Vanessa, Mike and I all went down to Esso at lunch to invite him and he got off work and came to play! I did quite well. Another year of RISK completed, even if this year was a bit sporadic and not quite as permanent as last year. A note to Miss I, since you were not there to counteract Brent's powers, I am now firmly entrenched in his ranks. (Just kidding) Well, enough of that...
Since Tuesday a lot has happened. On Thursday, a band came to our school for Buddy Day. They were entertaining, especially considering that they were all students about my age and could play their songs that well. Some of the vocals could have used some fine-tuning, but there was a Swiss girl who had an absolutely adorable voice and, I'll admit, was quite cute. Cory Schultze and I both agree we are moving to Switzerland... Another intersting note, Mike and Courtney had a mutual break up, so they are no longer a couple. (Mrs. W/Miss I, If you are reading this and wondering why Courtney and I aren't dating, it is a strange story, but long story short, I screwed up, it is O.K. now, though, and maybe I can fix things like last year...?) (The wedding is postponed) (It is not completely my fault)Then we had RISK Tournament. After that I went to work for a couple hours, and earned some money. If you didn't already know, I am working for my father, and he is actually paying me! Then Friday we got a lot of homework, Megan left to go to Folk Fest (Mosaic) in Regina, and I am jealous, I really wanted to go! I worked in the field more. Yes, I get to drive the tractor, and all the girls think it is totally sexy... they are even kind of crazy about my farmer's tan! (It's a song)
Also, I took a very interesting and very funny Tibeten Personality Test and it really made me laugh. If you ever get the e-mail with it on it, take it, it is sometimes funny to see what your answers are. Finally, after four days I finally got back on the internet, I was sooo busy this last while and I really wanted to post on my blog! Sorry i don't have pictures from the RISK Tourny, but I need a digital camera.
Drama here is not nearly as good as it was last year apparantly from what Grade 11's have told us. Oh well, I was enjoyable sometimes. Oh, and today the grade 10's and 11's got called to the office, and the school is considering haveing a trip to Europe, and tour through London, Paris, and the Swiss Alps. I am totally excited! I really hope I can afford to go!
Au revoir tout le monde!

Welcome to All

Welcome here all people who have nothing better to do, or enjoy my opinions, or want to know what is happening in my life. I will try to update this at least once a week with a new perspective and some long running series of events such as "RISK Club" and "The Search for the Perfect Girl" Well, enjoy!
